GREAT VIEW LANDOWNERS ASSOCIATION
This website has been set up to provide property owners and interested visitors pertinent & useful information about the association that oversees the commonly owned property that surrounds our homes in Crestline.
Beginning in the early 1920s, annual leases for summer-use-only cabins were let by the US Forestry along this crest of the mountain. Over the next half century, what began as small, seasonal camps were slowly upgraded to larger cabins, with some eventually evolving into full-time residences. In the 1970s, a land swap with the Forestry Service allowed the leaseholders to purchase not only the land under their structure, but also the acreage surrounding the twenty-three parcels. Thus was born the forested Common Land that makes our area so desirable and so unique.
Today, we are currently four "full-timers", ten "weekenders", and—sadly—seven empty lots (mostly due to the homes lost to the Old Fire in 2003). Our group is comprised of an eclectic mix of characters of all ages and from all walks of life; some have been around for decades and others are newcomers who have recently had the good fortune to stumble onto our bit of mountain paradise.
Visitors are welcome to explore the information posted here. Landowners who have been granted access to Association documents and landowner contact info can view and download those documents here.
